News about the Children's Hope Dinner—and Ways You Can Help Kids Today
— Mike Douris · Saturday, March 21, 2020 —
Thank you for your ongoing support of Orphan Outreach and the children we serve together globally. Together, we restore hope for orphaned and vulnerable children.
Given the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendation for no large group meetings for at least the next eight weeks, after much prayer, we have made the decision to postpone our 7th annual Children’s Hope Dinner until 2021. We look forward to celebrating the Children’s Hope Award recipient Connie Yates and hearing from Emmitt Smith next year. We will be announcing a new 2021date soon.
Now, more than ever, sponsorships and donations from this event are critical to our ministry, and provide nearly $400,000 of what we have committed to serve children who are counting on us in 2020. Caring for orphaned and vulnerable children does not stop during a pandemic or any other disaster.
You might be wondering how you might help during this time. Here are three great ways:
God loves to hear you pray for specific needs and lift up the names of children who deserve care, compassion, and community. Being a prayer warrior for the cause of the orphaned and vulnerable is a powerful weapon in bringing healing to our broken world. Become a prayer partner now.
Second, SUPPORT OUR ONGOING WORK.
As I shared, caring for orphaned and vulnerable children doesn't stop. Your support is needed now more than ever. We hope you will prayerfully consider making a donation to Orphan Outreach in 2020, enabling us to continue our vital programs for the children and families we serve.
Finally, HELP MEET CRITICAL NEEDS WITH EVERY AMAZON PURCHASE.
Simply go to Smile.Amazon.com and select Orphan Outreach as your preferred charity. Every purchase you make provides funding for critical needs in the countries we serve.
We are all holding tight to God’s promise that He would never leave us, nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). That is a truth we can all hold onto for ourselves and the children we serve around the world.
In Christ’s name,
Orphan Outreach President and Co-Founder
