Aging Out Program

Jelgava, Latvia, was home to one of the largest orphanages in the country. In 2018, the country focused its efforts on deinstitutionalization of orphan care programs, and the orphanage in Jelgava was transitioned into a crisis center. Many children living in the orphanage were moved into foster care programs; however, a number of teens were not matched with foster families and therefore left without the personalized care needed to successfully transition into adulthood.

Orphan Outreach had provided humanitarian support to the Jelgava orphanage for years, and transitioned to provide care for the teens who have been displaced. In 2025, that work expanded to other regions in the country. In partnership with local ministries and social work professionals, we provide physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual support. In addition, sponsorships, church partnerships, and mission trips offer encouragement and care throughout the year.
