God Is Our Upholder

Right now, my team and I have been talking a lot about our mission and we’ve focused the conversation around our logo. During one of our meetings, I pulled up our logo and asked everyone, “What do you see?”

People saw a child, wind blowing, a sail boat, and God’s hand. I see all of these things too but what really stands out to me when I look at our logo is God’s guidance. I see God leading us, providing for us, pushing us forward and pulling us back. It brings to mind a verse that I’ve been meditating on a lot lately, Isaiah 41:10:

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

When I read that verse, I think of when my daughter was younger and I would hold her hand to help her walk. Even now, I hold her hand as we cross the street, to guide and protect her. It’s humbling and comforting to think of God doing the same for us. No matter where we are, or where we go, God is there, holding our hand. Whether I’m walking into a meeting or a presentation, He’s walking with me. He’s holding the hand of our staff as they go into a family visit or when they meet with a government official. He’s always with us, upholding us with His right hand.

It’s true, we’re no longer that little sail boat we once were-we’ve grown. But as we grow we want to stay flexible, able to adapt and respond to the needs of our kids.

Regardless- everyone agreed, when you look at our logo, that boat is moving. God is moving us. He’s called us to move forward, not to stay still, and He’s holding our hand as He leads us forward.
