In partnership with the Honduran Child Protective Services (SENAF), Orphan Outreach and its partner in-country NGO are providing oversight and expertise in privatized foster care.
This unique partnership between Orphan Outreach and SENAF began with the design, development, and approval of a national foster care protocol which includes laws, licensing standards and regulations. Government employees received training on best practices, and the partnership has continued with the design of a comprehensive foster care pilot program that joins like-minded NGOs in Honduras in a focused effort to recruit, train, and provide support for families ready to open their homes for a season to orphaned and vulnerable children. The goal of this special program in Honduras is that each child will ultimately be moved out of the protective system and placed within a family.
