Michael Monroe, Retired Hunt Oil Company Executive, Joins Orphan Outreach as CEO & President

PLANO, TEXAS – September 2, 2025-Orphan Outreach, a ministry serving vulnerable children worldwidehas named Michael Monroe as its new CEO & President, bringing with him over two decades of broad leadership experience in both global business and ministry. Michael’s appointment represents a strategic step forward in the growth and global impact of Orphan Outreach as it continues to serve orphaned and vulnerable children around the world.

Monroe has built a reputation for successfully guiding organizations through significant transformation. Over the past 23 years, he held various executive positions at Hunt Oil Company, including an extensive leadership role in Hunt Oil’s energy activities in PeruMost recently, Monroe also served as President of Hunt Consolidated, Inc., where he led the organization’s worldwide legalhuman resources, and IT functions and guided global strategy across the company’s major energy businesses. Throughout his legal and executive career, Monroe has consistently been recognized as a collaborative, solutions-driven leader who elevates team performance and aligns diverse stakeholders to deliver exceptional results.

In addition to his corporate experience, Monroe has a long-standing personal commitment to the welfare of vulnerable children. In 2005, Michael and his wife Amy founded Tapestry, a groundbreaking church ministry to provide holistic support, practical resources, and transformative community to adoptive and foster families. The ministry eventually grew into a network of volunteers serving thousands of families and equipping church ministries across the U.S. and Canada.

The couple’s work also expanded to include a partnership with Dr. Karyn Purvis and the creation of Empowered to Connect (ETC)a training and resource initiative designed to make trauma-informed, relationship-focused care accessible and relevant to Christian families. Together with Dr. Purvis, Michael and Amy co-authored Created to Connect: A Christian’s Guide to The Connected Child.
