The Children's Hope Dinner & Celebration raises funds for Orphan Outreach's community-based programs in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America — fueled by a simple belief: every vulnerable child deserves to grow up connected, cared for, and equipped for healthy independence, in the places they call home.

We partner with local leaders to build programs uniquely designed for each child they serve. Through trusted relationships and faithful sponsors, children and families are surrounded by consistent care — empowered to dream beyond their circumstances and reach for a future they once thought impossible.

When you join us this evening, you step into a story much bigger than one night.

Dr. Darold and Mrs. Pam Opp

Dr. Darold Opp has spent his career caring for children as a dental practitioner at the Center for Advanced Dentistry in Aberdeen, South Dakota. In December 1993, a moment in a Moscow orphanage transformed that care into a calling. Standing in a room full of children receiving Christmas gifts, Dr. Opp noticed one little girl sitting alone; head hung low, still waiting. He walked over, knelt, and handed her a doll — and the smile that crossed her face never left him. Nearly 30 years later, he and his wife Pamela sponsor 100 children across nine countries served by Orphan Outreach, praying over each one by name. To Dr. Opp, it has always been simple: when you invest in a child, you invest in them today and in their future.

Pike

Dr. Pike Roper

Dr. Pike Roper is an Emergency Medicine Physician at Harris Fort Worth and serves on the TCU medical school faculty. Dr. Roper bears a commitment to caring for the vulnerable - driven by a heart for children and a passion for global service. Dr. Roper has led three Orphan Outreach medical mission teams to Kenya, bringing urgent healthcare to more than 850 children and their families served in Kenya at three separate ministry locations. His dedication to that work became permanent in 2017 when the Dr. Pike Roper Medical Centre was established at the ACK Madeleine School — a full healthcare facility offering essential medical services to the vulnerable children and their families of the school, as well as the local community. Last year, 600 children received medical care, benefitting from both routine treatment and specialized support — part of a growing legacy of healing that continues to expand each year at the medical center in Kenya. At home, Dr. Roper and his wife, Lindsey, have extended that same spirit of compassion into their family life as adoptive parents to children from China. Whether in a Texas emergency room or a Kenyan clinic, Dr. Roper has given a lifetime of service to care for those in need.
