SCRIPTURE VERSE

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:6-7

PRAISES
Over 1,300 people attended the Christian Alliance for Orphans Summit last week and had an encouraging time with the presenters and workshops. It was such a great blessing to see so many Christians, churches, and ministries committed to the care of the orphan. Mrs. Patricia Arzu, former First Lady of Guatemala and Orphan Outreach ministry partner, gave a heartfelt keynote address on the first morning of the conference.

PRAYER REQUEST

Guatemala

Praise for a wonderful trip with MacArthur Boulevard Baptist Church to Guatemala.  The team spent time with the children at Cericaif and also hosted a pastors dinner in Santiago. They gave study Bibles to each of the pastors and a gift bag to the pastor's wives.  The medical clinic went very well and ministry to the students of the Good Shepherd school was wonderful.

Please pray for the team of 16 individuals from Charleston Southern University in South Carolina who will be serving at Ceracaif and Santiago from May 15-24.

Honduras
Also pray for the Trash Mountain Project Group from Florida, who will be building a home and holding a sports camp at AFE.

India
Please pray for boys at the Suryodoya Home in Orissa as plans are presently being executed to re-integrate them with their families who have moved back into their villages in Kandhamal.  They have been away from their homes since the violence in 2008. The process to restart their lives in their villages will be slow and difficult, but we praise God that they can be reunited to a pre-violence situation, with their families and in their villages.

There is an opportunity that God is providing for the ministry at Santvana to see much expansion of their HIV program near Pune, to help reach out to many more children, women and families affected by the disease.  Please pray that the process leading to the fulfillment of this opportunity will happen smoothly in God’s time and that the comforting environment of Santvana will be able to reach so much farther.

Please pray for the expansion of the home at Anand that is progressing well.  We praise God that we have been able to see improved giving from the local community to the home which is such a blessing to have.  Pray for plans to accept many new orphan infants and children into this home in the near future as soon as some needed infrastructure is set up and ready.

Pray for Dr. Samson Parekh as he continues to spend time with the children and staff at the Anand and Santvana Homes.  Pray that much needed healing and comfort will result from the focused individual time that he devotes to the children and the staff and as he seeks to address each with respect to their individual needs and situations.

We request continued prayer for the need for financial support to the programs in India and equally so as we look forward to the potential of being able to expand the ministry to some other areas of the country.  We pray that God will increase the awareness and intent for India across the community of churches and believers in the U.S. and that more church communities will step forward to adopt programs in India.

Russia
Continue to pray for our graduates in all our programs as school comes to a close in Russia. Pray for this time as graduates transition into a new stage of life and are experiencing life on their own. Pray for the Lord's guidance over their lives.

Summer Internship

Pray for the interns as they prepare for their time of service overseas. Pray that their support would come in and that their hearts would be prepared for all that God wants to reveal to them.

Please pray for
Antonia and Maria
in Guatemala

Antonia, 7, and Maria, 11, are sisters and both attend the Good Shepherd Christian Academy in Santiago, Guatemala. They live in Panabaj, a small village outside of Santiago. The girls have an older sister, Magdalena, who is 13. Their dad works in agriculture and their mom embroiders. She also suffers from epilepsy. The girls enjoy playing with dolls and soccer. Antonia wants to work with beads and Maria wants to be a teacher.

Praise God for bringing these girls to Good Shepherd and for providing an environment where they hear the gospel and receive a quality education. Please pray for Antonia and Maria as they are in school. Pray that they would remain diligent in their studies.
