SCRIPTURE VERSE
"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord,
“He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
— Psalm 91:1-2

PRAISE
Praise for the two teams that just returned from Russia last month. They ministered to hundreds of children and were able to support the discipleship ministry there. There was also a wonderful dedication for Hannah’s Hands for Brian, Eraina and Lucy Larson in memory of Samuel Lars. Much of the funding for the program was donated in memory of Samuel for Hannah’s Hands, which provides care for many children abandoned and removed for abuse in St. Petersburg.

PRAYER REQUESTS

Orphan Outreach
During this Christmas season, pray for the children in the countries we serve. The holidays are always a very difficult time for children living in orphanages or seperated from their families. It is our hope to bring joy into their lives this holiday season by providing each child with Christmas gift, showing them they are uniquely loved. Pray for the needed resources to provide Christmas gifts for the children we serve. And most importantly, pray that these children would come to know and understand God's great love for them through the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Please pray for end-of-year giving as it is the time of year Orphan Outreach receives a large portion of its budget and as the fiscal year ends and a new year of ministry begins.

Honduras
Pray for the upcoming mission trip to Honduras in December – that the political situation will calm down and our team will be able to minister effectively and safely.

Pray for the hiring of a case manager for AFE in Honduras. 121 Community Church has provided the funds for a case manager to work with the children and their families in the dump community. Praise the Lord for His provision of these funds.

Russia
Pray for the Christian theatre, a group of full-time professional Christian actors in Russia. We are thankful for this theatre group and their willingness to serve along side us this Christmas in providing a special program in the orphanages where we serve. Christmas is a very busy time for this theatre group but they want to be part of this ministry to the children. Pray that they are able to easily accommodate us in their schedule and that God will touch the children, caregivers and directors through this special Christmas program.

Pray that God would give Olga Vlasenko, Russia mission coordinator, wisdom and strength as she carries out the work God has called her to do in orphan ministry. Pray that she would be encouraged by how the Lord is using her.

2010 Summer Interns
We are recruiting for next summer's interns. Begin praying for college students and young people who are considering the opportunity and share this with those you know who may be interested. To learn more about 2010 internships, click here.

Please pray for
Chittaranjan
in India

Chittaranjan, age 7, has endured much hardship as a young boy living in the state of Orissa, where there has been much ethnic violence and persecution. Chittaranjan was at school during an attack on his village and fled into the forest with other believers. He hid there for four days and later ended up at a relief camp before going to a shelter. He has experienced the horrors of violence and terror. Yet in the darkness and chaos, God has provided a refuge for Chittaranjan and many boys who have been displaced. The Suryodoya Charitable Trust started and manages this safe shelter and also offers an education.

Chittaranjan is enrolled in school within the premises of the home where he is learning English and has succeeded well beyond expectation in ranking second in his class. In addition to English, he is learning math and science. Chittaranjan aspires to be a doctor, as he would like to serve the people in his community.

Please pray for Chittaranjan as he continues his education and for Suryodoya as they offer assistance to an increasing number of boys who are separated from loved ones and face many issues. Pray for their safety as the situation over there is very dangerous. Pray that the Lord would remain their hope and refuge in times of trouble.
