PRAYER REQUESTS

Guatemala
Pray for the Good Shepherd School in Santiago as they need financial assistance to meet their commitments to the end of the year.

HondurasThis past summer, a trip participant from the WaYfm team, Steve Jordan, suffered a serious injury while working at an orphanage. Steve is more than halfway done with his physical therapy and no longer needs to walk with an apparatus. If this type of progress continues, he will be released to work by the end of this month. Praise the Lord!! Steve and his wife, Becky, are thankful for all the support they have received through this situation. Please pray for continued healing.

India
Continue to pray for Sonaji in Pune who is very sick with AIDS. Pray that the Lord will bring healing and that Sonaji will become stable again. Pray for the staff who are ministering to him and the 26 other children at Santvana Home.

Praise the Lord for a $3,000 gift that will be used for renovations at Santvana Home in Pune. The donation will make it possible to renovate the second house to expand the capacity of the Home and the services offered. Orphan Outreach is hoping to serve 40 to 50 children with the new renovations.

Russia
Please pray for the children and teenagers at Nikolsky orphanage. Our in-country staff desires to take the children to the local church as often as possible. Pray that the orphanage director and caregivers would allow the children to attend church.

Pray that the officials will decide to reopen the Lomonosov Baby Home to care for many children.

Your Orphan Sunday event could be a prayer during Sunday services, a collection of Mission Backpack items for orphans, or a recruiting event for an orphan-serving ministry.

At the official Orphan Sunday website, you wll find ideas and support for creating your own event in your church.
Please Pray for
Zhenya and Nadya
in Russia

Zhenya, 15, is in the 8th grade and Nadya, 15, is in the 10th grade. Both teens have lost their father and mother either through death or alcoholism. Zhenya enjoys playing sports and singing songs, while Nadya likes to draw and spend time with the younger children. They both have high aspirations after graduation and want to attend the University to be an attorney and doctor.

Zhenya and Nadya are just two girls at Nikolsky, near St. Petersburg, who are being equipped through Orphan Outreach's evangelistic ministry. As a result, they are encouraged to persevere and pursue a future that might not have been possible given their difficult past and circumstances.

Many children who come through the orphanage system are often lost and afraid with little to no direction on who they are and who they want to be. There are many factors that confound a child into thinking no one cares for them and that they have no purpose or hope in life. That is why Orphan Outreach values the importance of sharing the Gospel to these children through God's Word that speaks truth and love. Weekly Bible studies are held every Thursday. The children have been very receptive to the Bible studies and anxiously await it each week. They also enjoy the relationships that are built with the OO staff and volunteers from the local church. They learn from the Scriptures that somebody loves and cares for them. They are being restored and given an identity in Christ.

  • Please pray for this ministry as the children learn about Christ and His love for them.
  • Pray that their hearts and the orphanage staff's hearts would be receptive to God's Word.
  • Also pray for our current staff and church volunteers who share the Gospel with these children.
  • We are thankful to be able to work in the orphanages, but need more staff to serve these children.
  • Pray for the Lord to provide the resources to hire additional staff.
