SCRIPTURE VERSE

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Romans 8: 38 - 39

PRAISES
Praise the Lord that the Swine Flu is under control in Guatemala; we are thankful that God has kept the Orphan Outreach staff safe during this time.

India's recent elections have kept the current favorable party in office for another five years.  Praise the Lord for His hand in the elections.

Praise the Lord for the eight new girls who have come to the Anand Children's Home in India this month. Pray that the transition for these girls will be easy and the Lord will provide both comfort and stability in their lives. Please continue to pray for the Home as it awaits government approval which will allow the Home to grow and provide love and shelter to more children in Anand. The application process was held up last month due to the elections but the process has recently resumed. Please pray the Children's Home will receive the approval they need to expand quickly.

PRAYER REQUEST

Guatemala
The children of Santiago and Panabaj are grateful for the opportunity to attend the Good Shepherd Christian Academy in Santiago.  Praise the Lord for the supporters that have made a committment to provide scholarships necessary for these children to receive quality Christian educations. Please continue to pray for children like Juan, pictured right, and their families. Pray that the Lord will equip him and other students at Good Shepherd Christian Academy with the skills and the passion to make a difference in the community of Panabaj.

Honduras
Eight team members from 121 Community Church in Grapevine, Texas shared Christ's love with children and families living and working in the city dump in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The team fed more than 400 people in the dump, taught math classes and craft classes to 160 students at AFE (Amor, Fe Y Esperanza School), taught 32 women and teens how to make jewelry and hosted a Mother's Day lunch for more than 300 women living in the dump. For many of these women, it was the first time they had ever been seated at a table with a table cloth and been served by others. The Lord did amazing work through these eight individuals and we praise the Lord for their willingness to serve. Click here for full details about this amazing trip.

Thank you for your continued prayers regarding the loading and shipment of WaYfm's 40-foot container. The container was loaded on May 7 with two refurbished playgrounds, medicine and medical supplies, clothing, desks, chairs, and additional aid to be used and distributed during WaYfm's trip to Honduras June 14-27. Pray that the container arrives safely in Guatemala on May 23 and that it goes through customs smoothly. Please pray for this team as they build a new playground, construct homes, provide medical care and share Christ with children and families throughout Honduras. India
Please continue to pray for the ongoing process of setting up a local trust (non-profit organization) in India. Pray this week as we work to open bank accounts for the trust.

Please pray for Samson Parekh as he begins his work as director of missions for Orphan Outreach. We are thankful to have Samson as part of the Orphan Outreach team in India. Pray that this will be a long and beneficial  partnership.

Russia
We are thankful for all the generous donors who have recently provided support to our upcoming orphan graduates. In May, Orphan Outreach will be supporting 62 graduates as they leave the orphanage and transition into independent living. Thanks to generous donors, 25 graduates have received support. Please click here to read more about the Orphan Outreach's pilot Orphan Graduate program.

Summer Mission Trips
Please continue to pray for our 18 summer interns as they prepare for their upcoming mission trips. Pray for our Guatemala interns as they leave on June 5 and for our Honduras interns as they leave on June 12.
Please Pray for Juan
in Guatemala.
In Guatemala, only five out of ten students who enter primary school in urban areas complete primary school, as opposed to only two out of ten in rural areas, such as Panabaj, a small village outside of Santiago. Poverty is particularly widespread among indigenous communities, where children face multiple disadvantages in addition to a lack of education, including chronic poverty, high mortality, poor health, and undernutrition.

Juan Pablo, age 13, lives in Panabaj and is in the 4th grade at Good Shepherd Christian Academy in Santiago. He has seven siblings and his parents sell wood for a living. Juan’s hobbies include playing soccer, reading and doing his homework. Praise the Lord for allowing Juan to attend school and obtain a quality Christian education. He hopes to become a doctor someday, and with the dedication of Pastor Diego and the teachers at Good Shepherd, Juan can break the cycle of poverty and impact his community with the love of Christ.

Please join us in praying for Juan and his family, for his continued education at Good Shepherd, and for the Lord to equip him with the skills and passion to make a difference in Panabaj. Pray for God to provide the urgent needs of the school, which include scholarships for 30 children, teacher and staff salaries, renovations, and supplies.
