2 Corintians 13:11
"Finally, brothers, rejoice, be made complete, be comforted, be like-minded, live in peace;
and the God of love and peace will be with you."
PRAISES
Many caregivers and teachers in Russia have received children's Bibles from the Orphan Outreach staff and have said that the Bibles are easier for them to understand. Now they want to read them more. Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord that the Summer Internship program is full. What a blessing to have young adults committing a portion of their summer to serve children around the world.  Click here to read more about the Summer Internship program.

We are thankful to God for His comfort and peace during difficult and sad times. Praise the Lord that we can trust His plan and His faithfulness.

PRAYER REQUEST

Guatemala

Mike, John, and Jodi Douris will be visiting many of the Orphan Outreach projects in Guatemala and Honduras this week. Pray for a safe and productive trip.

Please begin to pray for the upcoming Mother & Daughter trip to Guatemala City in June. Pray that many would listen and follow God's call to sign up for this wonderful opportunity to serve children in Guatemala.  To learn more about this trip, click here.

Please pray for the safety and health of the Orphan Outreach staff in Guatemala as they travel to many rural areas to serve the children.

India
Some very sad news has come to us this week regarding the Santvana AIDS Home in Pune, India. Young Hassan (pictured right), an 8-year old HIV positive boy who lived in this home, became ill and passed away suddenly. Hassan came to know the Lord during his time at Santvana and was learning more about Jesus everyday. We are comforted knowing that Hassan is now with his Creator and King.

Please pray for Dr. Edwards (Director of Santvana Home), the staff and children at Santvana as they deal with this sudden loss.  Pray that the Father of compassion and God of all comfort would comfort their hearts.

Pray also for Hassan's father who is not a follower of Christ. Pray that his experience in dealing with Dr. Edwards and Santvana Home during this difficult time will allow the Holy Spirit to bring change into his heart so that he may come to know the Lord, just as his son did.

Russia
One of Orphan Outreach's partner orphanages has seen a decline in the quality of food being served to the children.  Pray that this problem would be stopped and that the children would continue to grow healthy and strong despite this issue. Pray also that any corruption or greed causing this problem would be exposed and corrected.

Continue to pray for the Orphan Outreach Evangelistic Ministry Team as they share Christ with the children in Russia.

Pictured Below: Lena, a member of the Orphan Outreach Evangelistic Ministry Team, spends time with the children at Hospital #15 in St. Petersburg, Russia. Hospital #15 is currently home to approximately 55 orphans.

Please pray for
Sergey
in Russia.
Sergey Skameikin, 17, graduated from Nikolsky orphanage last summer and has the same dreams many children have - to go to college, graduate, and obtain a good job.

Please commit to praying for Sergey, for the Lord to provide an education and a job that allows him to succeed as an adult without the obstacles and temptations that keep many orphan graduates from surviving on their own.

Many children in Russia are forced to leave the orphanages at age 16 with little or no formal schooling, limited life skills, and no one to turn to for assistance. Within the first year of leaving the orphanage, over 50% are involved in prostitution or crime, another 30% are addicted to drugs or alcohol, and another 10% commit suicide.

Orphan Outreach began its Orphan Graduate program in January 2009 with two orphanages and has hired a social worker who helps graduates learn how to live independently and transition out of the orphanage. Our goal is to hire more Christian social workers and get the local church involved in supporting these children to become successful, hopeful, and faith-filled individuals who can become productive members of society and support their own families. We hope to establish a model program that can be reproduced throughout Russia.

Please be praying for these orphan graduates as they face many challenges; pray that their trust would be in the Lord.
